You need time to look for just what you want. So, when is the best time to start looking for your student accommodation? Here is our guide to help you understand what your options are when to act.

Your first year at a university in Lincoln

If you have only just got a place at Lincoln, then you might be under a shorter time restraint than those that are in their second or third year. Ideally you will start to look at potential properties in the March before you start uni in September but with a conditional place you won’t be ready to sign a contract just yet. Going through clearing will make this process even more difficult and you might have to set aside some time to visit Lincoln as soon as you can to assess where you might like to live.

It is a great city with many attractions. You want to know as much as you can about the city, so look at some guides (especially those written by students) and see what will work for you. We want you to make the right choice.

Always think about the different contracts and rules that are in place when you choose your student house Lincoln as you will need to know exactly what you are letting yourself in for.

Returning to a Lincoln university

If you are in you second or third year (or even beyond) then you will have more time on your hands to make your choice and finalise where you will live. We suggest that January is the best time to look for your next year’s accommodation. This gives you plenty of time to –

  • Decide if where you currently live is still suitable
  • Enquire to make sure it is available
  • Take a look at the options
  • Make a final decision

We suggest that you always take a look at what else is on the market, even if you are relatively happy where you are. A lot can change in a year and you might want to think about getting something different from the place you live. If you have spent a year in the city then you have got to know it well. Think about where you might want to be for the best in social life, study and to get away from it all at the end of the day.

Choose your student house Lincoln

It all comes down to thinking about what you want from your Lincoln student accommodation. Some want to be close to their studies and cut down that commute. Others want to be near where the action is and close to the bars and restaurants of the city. Decide what works for you.
